The team's last appearance in the NBA Championship was when they won in 1975. Prior to that, they won the championship again in 1956, and in 1947 they won the championship as members of the BAA. The team has won six Conference titles (1947, 1948, 1956, 1964, 1967, and 1975) and seven Division titles (1948, 1951, 1956, 1964, 1967, 1975, and 1976).
The Golden State Warriors made it to the playoffs in 2006-07 against the Dallas Mavericks. They beat the first game against the Mavs with a score of 97-85, but were defeated in the second game. They lost the series after seven games.
February 29, 2008 - The team has been known by many different names, from the Philadelphia Warriors (1946-1962), to the San Francisco Warriors (1962-1971) and finally settling on the Golden State Warriors (1971-present). They play at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. Team colors are Midnight Blue, Golden Gate Orange, California Yellow, and White.
The team was founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1946 but the franchise was moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1962, which renamed them to the San Francisco Warriors. They changed their names to the Golden State Warriors in the 1971-72 season owing to the fact that none of their games were played in San Francisco.
This is the only team in the NBA that does not have the name of their state or city in the title of the team.
